Smart WiFi Solution

A lot has already been put forward about beacons and their numerous applications. The word "numerous" here being a relative understatement given the sheer scale of some of these aforementioned applications. The technology behind beacons has been of great interest as well; as beacons operate on BLE's (Basically, Bluetooth technology). Well, bfonics, having observed the numerous issues that arise upon using Bluetooth technology as the basis for the operation of beacons, proudly introduced world’s first Wi-Fi enabled beacons (Patent Pending). Taking this one step further bfonics has now excelled in Wi-Fi router based technology.

Now, don't be alarmed, as by Wi-Fi routers, it means normal routers that are installed in houses/shops/malls to get an active Wi-Fi connection up and running. What if we tell you that if you had one of these Wi-Fi routers, you can easily convert them to function as beacons as well? That's right, if you happen to own a Wi-Fi router, then you don't have to pay extra for any sort of extra hardware as said routers can themselves be used as beacons. All you would require then would the appropriate software, which would be developed by us at bfonics. This is a sign of glorious future for all business houses for attracting and retaining customers at unbelievably low cost.

Wi-Fi routers which are required to function as beacons are setup using their very own proprietary dashboards. It's inexpensive and quite simple. Furthermore, since we're focusing solely on Wi-Fi routers as opposed to those that run on BLE, These routers offer better "monitoring" capabilities and better range. "Smart WiFi Solution", as we call it is an innovative model by bfonics which is going to change the future of contextual customer engagement.

You read it first, right here, at bfonics.

What is Beacons?

Our Team

Beacons are small, low-powered transmitters that communicate with smart devices in a predefined physical radius.

Beacons tie physical location to content delivery, allowing brands to effectively trigger messages, promotional offers, or unique app experiences based on a user's precise physical location.

iBeacon: iBeacon is the trademark for an indoor proximity system that Apple Inc. calls "a new class of low-powered, low-cost transmitters that can notify nearby iOS 7 devices of their presence."The technology enables a smart phone or other device to perform actions when in close proximity to an iBeacon.

The "iBeacon" nomenclature confusion arose in 2013, when Apple took Bluetooth LE technology and packaged it into iOS7 and all of their newest devices. Then, using their standard "i-Naming" convention, Apple effectively branded their version of the technology as "iBeacon." While it is true that many beacon manufacturers are indeed working with Apple's Apple's trademarked iBeacon technology, it should be noted that any Bluetooth LE-enabled device, including devices running Android, can interact with beacons.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology

Our Team

iBeacon technology works using the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, also known as Bluetooth Smart.

iBeacon uses Bluetooth low energy proximity sensing to transmit a universally unique identifier picked up by a compatible app or operating system. The identifier can then be looked up over the internet to determine the device's physical location or trigger an action on the device such as a check-in on social media or a push notification.

With the help of an iBeacon, a smartphone's software can pinpoint its own location in a store. iBeacon can help a phone show notifications of items nearby that are on sale.
